proposed changes to CTTQ1 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Section (PTLLS)

Could all schools presently offering or planning to offer CTTQ1 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Section (PTLLS) please be aware that the structure and content of this qualification is presently under review and therefore will not be available in the present format after 1st September 2013. CIBTAC do not anticipate major changes to the present syllabi and new syllabi will be available for the reviewed qualification from June 2013.  

Phases of the review

Phase 1 – July to September 2012

Proposals for new qualifications developed with stakeholders and agreed by the project steering group

Phase 2 – October to December 2012

Feedback on proposals collected via regional events, self facilitated events and responses to an online survey
Findings and ways forward agreed by key stakeholders and the project steering group

Phase 3 – January to March 2013

Learning outcomes, practice and assessment requirements agreed with and between AOs and HEIs
LSIS facilitates development QCF qualification structure and units
March 2013 – Guidance for AOs and HEIs available
March 2013 – Guidance for employers and practitioners available
March 2013 – Guidance for ITE providers available
From September 2013 – New qualifications available
