Introducing our Council

Council are one of the things that make BABTAC & CIBTAC unique – we are non-profit organisation and our members get to vote each year on who represents them on the council.

Remember to look out for the notice of our AGM, which is held in June each year, we do love to see as many  of our members as possible.

Jason Phillips - Chairman

After a successful career in IT, Jason made the surprising jump in 2008 to train as an Intimate Male Waxing specialist.  He now covers 3 cities in the South West, and his mission is to deliver the most professional and comfortable specialist waxing treatments available.  Jason has also developed training materials covering the specialist area of male waxing, as well as advice on running a business.

His background in IT makes him a great source of advice and knowledge about the best ways to develop businesses, and make the most of new technology to interact with clients.

Having joined the council in 2010, Jason is currently Chair of BABTAC & CIBTAC. “I want to show men that this industry is a fascinating and rewarding career choice and I that by being involved with the UK’s longest running and highest quality association that also offers worldwide recognised beauty qualifications is a great opportunity to achieve this”.

Lesley Blair - Vice Chair

Lesley joined the Council in 2012, having been a CIBTAC Examiner for 17 years.

Lesley is qualified in all aspects of beauty therapy, holding qualifications from CIBTAC, ITEC, IHDC and City and Guilds.  As well as running her own salon, Lesley has teaching and assessor qualifications, and continues to spend time as a CIBTAC Examiner.

In 2005, Lesley achieved a First Class Honours Degree in Finance – which has not only helped her develop and grow her own business, but makes her a great resource for BABTAC & CIBTAC Schools and Centres to call on for advice.  This hasn’t changed Lesley’s career aspirations though – her heart is still deeply embedded in the beauty industry, and she loves that CIBTAC Examining gives her the opportunity to travel and meet new people, learning about their cultures and seeing how the beauty industry operates around the world.

Lesley’s priorities for her term on Council are to help students recognise the importance of world-class qualifications, and for our organisations to be leading the call for self-regulation in the UK.
