SKIN DISEASES

and be aware of their implications to salon treatments. Candidates
should also be able to identify primary and secondary lesions.

causes, description and treatment awareness.
HAIR
Minimum Study Time:
This may be split into 1 hour of contact
and 1 hour of additional study time.
Candidates should be able to describe
the structure and function of the hair, know the position of the
different hair structures and cycle of hair growth and define related
terminology.

NAILS

Candidates should be aware of the elements
of a balanced diet, current trends and new concepts in nutrition,
disorders caused by deficiency of nutrients and the needs of different
individuals. Candidates should know the principles of a weight reducing
diet and be familiar with the associated eating disorders. They
should be able to care for food appropriately and be aware of those
foods most likely to cause allergies.
