CIBTAC Portfolio of Diploma Courses
CIBTAC has long been renowned for its professional approach and high international standards of teaching and learning around the world. CIBTAC currently offers 30 diplomas in Beauty, Nails, Make-up, Spa, Complementary and Well-being therapies to international centres. The syllabus for each separate diploma is very specific and comprehensive, as is the amount of hours that a student must study. At the end of each course, every student sits a theoretical and, where appropriate, a practical examination, to test their knowledge and skills and only those that satisfy the External Examiner in every aspect, will be awarded the CIBTAC Diploma.

Details of the portfolio of diplomas is found on the top right of this page.

Minimum Training Hours
The minimum training hours are the total number of hours to be dedicated to the course.

These are then broken down into the following components:

Contact Hours
This is the time spent with a tutor in class studying the subject matter within the individual syllabi. It includes both theoretical and practical time. Where the study is practical, candidates may work on each other or on clients in order to learn the skills required.

These hours must be accurately recorded in a suitable format and will be checked at the time of the examinations.

Commercial Salon Environment Hours
A specific number of practical hours must be spent working on clients within a commercial salon environment. This can be within a working salon or simulated within the school or college. Preferably the clients should be external customers, but they may if necessary be candidates from another group. The candidates must prepare and plan for the clients’ treatment, greet them, complete a consultation and record card, advise on home care and see the clients out. These hours must be accurately recorded in a suitable format and will be checked at the time of the examinations. Client record cards and salon lists should be made available to the examiner.

Additional Hours of Study
The additional hours may be allocated to practical or theoretical work at the schools or colleges discretion. Theory work may be supplemented by the use of learning packages, library research or homework assignments for example. Additional practical time may be allocated to the contact hours or the commercial salon environment hours. In all cases these hours must be accurately recorded in a suitable format and will be checked at the time of the examinations. All assignment and research work should be made available to the examiner.
