 The British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology is the leading association for the professional therapist. It is internationally recognised for it's high standards. BABTAC is a not-for-profit organisation run by it's members for the benefit of both it's members and the industry as a whole. The Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority is the only Government recognised body for the beauty therapy industry, and is responsible for training, education and business development. It is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving standards and business performance. HABIA is also responsible for the National Occupational Standards, on which all beauty qualifications are based. The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority is the guardian of standards in education and training. The authority works to accredit and monitor qualifications in schools, colleges and at work.
